Diversion, a unit of Hearst Business Publishing, Inc., has been published since 1973. Although there are more than 200 publications that are distributed for free to American physicians, Diversion has always been the market leader among those that serve the non-clinical side of their lives.
Diversion is a travel and lifestyle magazine edited for physicians. Editorial coverage offers an eclectic mix that speaks to the reader as a person with a wide range of interests beyond medicine. The new year brings the promise of exciting and informative conferences. Topping the list is the annual ASCO meeting, May 30-June 3, in Chicago. For a first look at the highlights, see page 20. And turn to page 6 for an updated guide to the Windy City. The American Society of Breast Surgeons will be meeting in New York City, April 30-May 4. To whet your appetite for the trip, read John Mariani’s article on New York’s hottest new chefs and their restaurants on page 40. Farther afi eld, Lugano, Switzerland, is the site of the International Congress on Malignant Lymphoma, June 4-7. “Swiss Peaks,” on page 36, may inspire you to take a memorable side trip. Spring is a delightful time to plan a getaway. The American Society of Colon&Rectal Surgeons will be meeting in Boston, June 7-11. While you’re in Beantown, use our “Boston Walks” on page 29 to explore the city. The Society of Gynecologic Surgeons will convene in Savannah, April 14-18; the American College of Radiology will be in Orlando, May 8-10; and ASCO’s World Congress on Interventional Oncology will meet in Los Angeles, June 22-25.
